Ipswich in the '50s & '60s
The 1950s and '60s were a time of huge change for Ipswich. Many parts of the old town were demolished in the name of modernisation and new housing, office buildings and a new road network being built.
The cherished trolley buses were taken out of service during this time, as were the great steam trains that used to transport locals to nearby seaside towns for days out and summer holidays.
The music and dance scene was also developing fast and with athe arrival of rock and roll in the early '60s, teenagers gathered at the town's halls and studios to dance to records by bands like The Beatles and The Rolling Stones.
Evening Star columnist Dave Kindred has used hundreds of photographs to chart the decades of change for the county town in his new book Ipswich in the '50s & '60s.
The hardback book features 126 colour pages of thrilling memories and over 100 photographs.
