Gale-force winds threaten port closure

Last updated: 11/17/2009 11:03:00 PM

OPERATION Stack could be brought into force in the early hours of tomorrow morning as storm force winds are expected to lash the North Sea.

Lorries could be forced to queue on the A14 if Felixstowe Port is closed due to high winds.

The Met Office has issued a severe weather warning for north-east England as heavy rain and gale-force winds gusting up to 60 miles and hour are predicted overnight.

  • I have just read Felixstowe Port employ wheelclampers and yet they are allowed to close part of the A45 to park up trucks they have plenty of space for inside the Port. It doesn't add up unless once again a wealthy company is being treated differently from the rest of us. turtill@gmail.com
