UNPRECEDENTED resources were thrown into tackling a mice infestation at Martlesham Heath's Tesco store, a company boss has claimed today.
David Pearce, head of the retail giant's training and legal standards department, told East Suffolk Magistrates' Court that the company had taken sightings of mice and droppings on the shop floor extremely seriously.
Speaking at the hearing today, he said: “Looking back on it, I can't think of a pest problem that has had so many resources thrown at it as this one.”
Suffolk Coastal District Council has brought eight charges against the food chain, which include having inadequate environmental health procedures to deal with rodents and failing to 'pest-proof' the building.
Tesco denies the charges. The case continues.
