As I sit here in an unusually cold, damp and frosty Texas and reading about all the snow y'all are getting in Ipswich at the moment I can't help remembering the wonderful Christmases I had growing up as a child in Ipswich - and I miss it all terribly. I would just like to wish you all a very happy Christmas and prosperous 2010 - take care and stay warm and safe and one day dear Ipswich I will return for Christmas the way I know and love it - Merry Christmas:):):)
Hi Carmen, I miss it too. Not the wonderful Christmases and the snow but the growing up as a child all over again. Wouldn't it be wonderful to start all over again and make all the same mistakes too:-)
Absolutely Pete - and I too would make the same mistakes - I had a wonderful childhood growing up in Ipswich - ahhhhhhhh! memories:) Anyhooooo, hope y'all coping with snow ok - just spoke with my mom (she's 85) poor thing is going crazy because some of the Christmas packages I sent for some reason have a 'duty' pay on them or something and she can't get to the office at Ransome Road to take care of it - bless her - not sure whats up with the charge but hopefully she'll get it sorted - anyhoooooooooo, have a great Christmas and New Year and I'll be thinking of y'all in Ipswich and all that snow:)
Merry Xmas to you Casey and to Ipswich, I to am an import from Ipswich to San Antonio TX, love the weather her but miss Ipswich much, was back there in Sept 09 visiting my Mum, Dad, and brother and really enjoyed it, my travels have taken me all over the world but for me there is no thing like going home.
well you guys like wise with me, but for me you can keep that snow, its the after that i really do not like when it starts to go to slush, have been here on the Gold Coast Aussie for the passed 41 years and have never seen snow, but in saying that i must say i do miss Christmas that we had in the UK (Ipswich) able to get stuck into a big Christmas dinner, and then sit back and enjoy a drink or two, but with it being so hot here after dinner all anyone wants to do is sleep for a while, but on that note i would like to wish everyone a MERRY, MERRY CHRISTMAS, AND A SAFE, HEALTHY, and PROSPEROUS 2010, and please do not drink and drive.
Regards Mike, Mick, Michael but i have been called worse Ha!Ha!
Hi Mike ..Like you I been here just over 40 years,a life time that has really flown, I sort of miss the big roast dinners ,but also love me oll oysters, prawns and the like. I must say this has been the best Xmas,"weather wise" we have had for several years, lots of rain ,not too hot ,

before i got married and thats will be 50years come April this year, i lived on the Woodbridge road, until i was around 16, then we moved to Back Hamlet, where my brother Saul still lives, i can see that Ipswich have been getting a bit of snow, i go onto the BBC Suffolk, and go onto there web cams, even today Monday morning 4th but it will be the 3rd in Ipswich it looks as if you are getting snow, but like i said in my last possting you can keep it for me, like the sun to much know, got into the Aussie way of life, but in saying all of that my heart is still there, i often go onto the web site to have a look at the local papers, to see whats happening etc etc.
i would like to wish you and your family, and everyone else that reads this posting a HAPPY, HEALTHY, SAFE new year for 2010.

All the best to you, Tony
Hi Tony. well our last address in Ipswich was Ballater close first turning right down Witton church lane from Norwich road, and we arrived in Brisbane 1969 as well. had a look at the web cam in Ipswich today Thrursday and they are getting snow again better them then me.
you were just up the road in Ipswich as well, are we following each other around mate? lol. Yes the snow Mike , oh well you have to admit it does look lovely. I have a different view on the weather though,my job has me working outside in all weather, and I find the summer here in Qld can be really difficult at times,I have had one or two not very nice doses of heat stroke plus the usual sun damaged skin problems, thank goodness this summer has not been too bad , [so far anyway]. Well off to Sydney today for a few days to see my mum in law,,so looking forward to spending a bit of time round the Rocks.
Tony
