Hi, I was born in Curriers Lane, our neighbour served behind the counter part time for Jimmy, although I am well into my 70s I remember the cafe quite well considering my younger brother at the age of five, with another lad who was about three, stepped into a bakers electric van that was parked unattended in Curriers Lane, somehow they managed to start it running down the lane it crossed Princess St up on to the pavement and crashed into the cafe. It happened on a Tuesday, market day, plenty of traffic around, thankfully they and no one else were injured. This event was reported at the time by the Evening Star. Thought you might be interested, incidentally just a few years ago I organised a reunion for all that lived in the area before it was raised to the ground. Best wishes, Derrick Palmer.
